E3 2017: 5 Ups & 6 Downs From Ubisoft's Conference

Beyond Good & Evil creator Michel Ancel confirmed several weeks ago that the long-awaited second game wouldn't be appearing at E3 this year...and it turned out he was straight-up lying.

A CGI trailer for the game dropped, which revealed a dystopic future in the 24th century, where corporations control everything, enslaving hybrids that they create in labs, all while pirate rogues struggle to acquire resources and survive. The player will control a pirate who, as part of a team, will fight to retain their freedom.

An emotional Michael Ancel then took to the stage to thank fans and his team, and it was then revealed that, to the disappointment of some, the game is actually a prequel, taking place before Jade was even born. But come on, the game's actually freaking happening, and there was nothing better to be excited about coming away from the show.

No release date yet, but were you really expecting that?
