E3 2017: 5 Ups & 6 Downs From Ubisoft's Conference
5. Nobody Asked For The Crew 2
One of the show's biggest surprises was the reveal of The Crew 2, a sequel to a game that was deemed to be resoundingly "okay" by most who played it, yet apparently sold well enough to get this sequel nobody really asked for.
In fairness, with the added ability to pilot boats and planes as well as the usual cars and bikes, it does look like a major step up from the original, but considering how horribly the vehicles handled and how many players this quickly turned off, it's best to be cautious about this one for now.
It's a shame the game will again be taking place in the U.S., because there was some huge potential here to branch out elsewhere, but at least Ubisoft will be dropping a beta ahead of its 2018 release for players to see the apparent improvements for themselves.
Just try not to forget that it exists in the meantime, though, for all of the dent that the first game made in most people's memories. It was truly the Knack 2 of Ubisoft's show.
