E3 2017: 6 Ups & 5 Downs From EA's Conference

3. The Terrible Need For Speed Voice Acting

For all the good that Need for Speed: Payback might do for the ailing racing franchise, there's one aspect of the game that still looks (or rather, sounds) absolutely horrendous: the voice acting.

During the cinematic story mission shown off, the hilariously corny, over-affected voice acting detracted from the genuine intrigue of the mission itself, and while wonky acting isn't exactly a new trick for the series, it's a shame they still haven't rectified something that's so basic in 2017.

Some might argue it's an intentional homage to the absurd dialogue from the Fast and the Furious franchise, which this game is clearly trying to ape, but that's some pretty suspect apologia right there.
