E3 2018: 10 Most Believable Rumours (That Won't Happen)

8. Microsoft Will Show Off Halo And Gears, But Not Fable

After a couple of years on the back foot, the stage is finally set for Microsoft to have their best E3 of the generation. Their biggest franchises are all due a return, and reports seem to suggest that they've spent the past year or so quietly tinkering away with third parties trying to secure the best-looking titles for the Xbox One X.

While this almost guarantees that fans will get their first glimpses of Halo 6 and the alleged three Gears of War games that are in development, they can probably rule out seeing anything from the long-rumoured Fable 4.

Though nothing is confirmed, a series of leaks over the past year have pointed towards the fourth game in the franchise not only being real, but being in development at Forza Horizon studio, PlayGround Games.

Even better, the sequel is said to return the franchise to its hardcore, RPG roots, delivering a story-driven experience that Microsoft so desperately needs. However, by the sounds of things the project isn't far along in development, meaning that even if Microsoft do decide to reveal it early at E3, don't expect much more than a title teaser.
