E3 2018: 10 Most Believable Rumours (That Won't Happen)

After years of fans wondering whether the sequel to the cult hit Beyond Good and Evil had been quietly cancelled, Ubisoft unveiled a leaner, meaner version of it at E3 2017. Proving they weren't lying when they reaffirmed that it was eventually going to be made, the trailer established the follow-up's new approach to the series - but it was made clear that it was still early on in production.

In fact, despite nearly a decade of development, the reveal was essentially dubbed as being day zero for the project. The gameplay trailer that had been whipped up was more a proof of concept than anything else, with the implication that that's how the game could play, rather than how it does play.

The team will have no doubt spent the past year attempting to make that vision a reality, but it also means the title is still a ways out yet. Ubisoft have done their job - people now know that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is happening for sure - and as a result, the game could skip the conference entirely in favour of a stronger showing next year.
