2. Gears Is Back!!...As Funko Pops?
Microsoft's conference was cruising along quite nicely with the exclusives; a Halo: Infinite teaser trailer as an opener, a mid-show in-depth Forza Horizons 4 showcase, and then at the end a Gears Of War logo pops up on the screen to a cheering audience - certainly, this will be the pay-off for that Walmart leak of Gears 5?
Well, no - to everyone's complete confusion that logo is sliced in half by the trademark lancer to reveal Marcus Fenix as…a Funko Pop Vinyl character? It was a moment where you could literally hear hundreds of people's hearts sink into epic disappointment.
Luckily it was just a quick teaser for some mobile spin-off and Rod Fergusson came out to reveal what everyone was waiting for….a Gears RTS game? Nope, third time lucky though, Gears 5 was eventually revealed with a large chunk of enticing story gameplay unleashed to the excitement of the fans.
