E3 2018: 3 Ups & 6 Downs From Square Enix's Conference
1. It Was Only 30 Minutes Long
The mere fact that Square Enix even had a presentation this year - their first since 2015's 75-minute stage show - suggested they were set to deliver a content-rich showcase worthy of a prime-time E3 slot.
As it turned out, fans were shocked to see the livestream wrap up in just shy of half-an-hour, an hilariously brief time for a heavily hyped-up show that many expected to deliver so, so much more than it actually did.
If Square Enix had so little to offer up, why even do a showcase at all, and not just make their most important reveals in Microsoft and Sony's shows? They knowingly got fans excited and then didn't even take the platform they set for themselves seriously. What a waste.
As hilariously underwhelming as the livestream was, at least there were a few stellar moments that made it not a total waste of everyone's time...
