E3 2018: 5 Ups & 5 Downs From Ubisoft's Conference
3. Too Many Cinematic Trailers
This is far from a new Ubisoft trend, but it's still immensely frustrating that they fill so much of their shows with glossy cinematic trailers which, while technically impressive, have little bearing on each respective game's actual gameplay.
Now, while practically all of the cinematic trailers featured were also accompanied by gameplay footage, wouldn't it have been more worthwhile substituting those near-five-minute CGI trailers for a closer look at how each game actually plays?
Clearly, Ubisoft's marketing strategy works wonders for them, but in terms of getting a true idea of what a game is, these slick, over-produced videos are close to worthless.
