E3 2018: 5 Ups & 5 Downs From Ubisoft's Conference
2. Where The Hell Was Splinter Cell?
One of the hottest rumours going into E3 was that a reboot-sequel of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell would finally be announced, some five years after the commercially tepid yet well-reviewed Splinter Cell: Blacklist was released.
This would've been the perfect stage and time to reintroduce the much-loved stealth franchise, and though fans maintained hope until the show's very last minute that the game would be a "one more thing" megaton, sadly it wasn't to be.
Leaks seem to suggest the game is 100% in development, so it's really just a matter of when rather than if. Sony could still serve it up (at the time of press), but given the lack of new games revealed during Ubisoft's show, this would've been just the shocker to perk everyone up.
That's not to forget the absences of Prince of Persia and Watch Dogs, either.
