E3 2018: Predicting Release Dates For The Biggest Games

9. Gears 5

The Gears of War franchise has always worked on a pretty consistent 2-3-year release cycle between games, so it wasn't much of a surprise that Microsoft confirmed that Gears 5 is due in 2019.

The four main entries have all been released between September and November, and while a surprise spring bow shouldn't be discounted, it makes sense for Microsoft to stick to a formula that works.

Prediction: October 8, 2019. This would be almost exactly the same release pattern Gears of War 4 followed after being unveiled at E3 2015, so while Gears 5 could certainly fall a month either side of this, the window feels totally on the money.
