E3 2019: 10 Most Disappointing Video Game No-Shows
6. Resident Evil 8
Keeping on the Capcom train, it was a little surprising to not see a new Resident Evil at E3 2019. And damn you Blair Witch for getting hopes up.
Capcom has been absolutely killing it recently, seeing the company's stock surge - both amongst gamers and actual stock. Resident Evil 7 was a shock when it was revealed at E3 2016, and not only was the game great and sold well, but to this day it's one of the best PSVR titles. Simply put, Capcom knocked it out of the park and redeemed the franchise.
This year saw the release of Resident Evil 2 Remake, and it was a smash hit. The game sold even better than Resident Evil 7 and will be on all shortlists for Game of the Year 2019. So it makes sense that Capcom will want to double-down on the franchise and make some more announcements.
A remake of Resident Evil 3 is inevitable and incredibly exciting, however Resident Evil 8 seems much closer to fruition. Will it be a direct sequel to 7? Will it retain the first-person viewpoint? Will it be at E3 2020? The answer to all those is a probable yes, so now we play the waiting game.
