E3 2019: 10 Most Disappointing Video Game No-Shows
4. Batman: Arkham
Warner Bros. was conspicuously absent from E3 2019. The publisher was expected to show off multiple titles, one of which was a new Batman: Arkham game.
The Arkham trilogy was developed by Rocksteady Games, who said it was done with the Bat after Arkham Knight. Of course, there's the red-headed step-child of the series: Arkham Origins. The prequel game was developed by WB Montreal, and received harsh criticism from gamers and critics upon release. In the years since, Origins' reputation has increased vastly and a new game from the team has been long rumoured.
Developers at WB Montreal fuelled rumours of a new Batman game when a picture of an employee surfaced wearing a t-shirt with the Court of Owls logo on the back. The Court of Owls is a mysterious organisation in Batman lore, which has been controlling Gotham from underground for centuries. It hinted that a new game was in development that focused on the Owls, but we've heard nothing since.
WB Montreal hasn't put out a full game since Origins in 2013. So the studio is clearly at work on something for the past six years, but we'll be waiting at least a few more months to find out.
