E3 2019: 10 Most Disappointing Video Game No-Shows
2. Bioshock 4
A new Bioshock game is in development. That much we know. What it is and when we'll see it, well that's a different story.
Jason Schreier broke the news about a new Bioshock game last year, during his deep-dive into the developer behind Mafia III, Hangar 13 at 2K. Schrier mentioned that devs from Hangar 13 were being taken from that studio, and moved next door to work on an unannounced Bioshock game. The only other thing we know is that the project code name is "Parkside", which could indicate a suburban setting, but that's purely assumptive.
Based on the leak, it seems Bioshock 4 has been in development for over a year.
That's not a lot of time, and it's unclear if that was pre-production or full development. Regardless, we were hoping for a mention of the game at E3 2019. Sure, Bioshock 4 is 100% a next-gen game, but a short teaser to hint at the setting would have been enough to get us salivating.
Sadly, it wasn't to be, and sadder still: it might be a further two or three years before we see this one. That said, it's just nice to know Bioshock isn't dead.
Take your time and do it right, 2K.
