E3 2019: 20 Huge Video Game Announcements You Need To Know
2. Gears 5 Releases September 10
Though Gears 5's presence at E3 was honestly pretty odd - namely by way of an awkwardly artsy teaser trailer (below) and the lack of campaign gameplay footage - fans did at least learn that they'll be playing the shooter sequel even sooner than expected.
Gears 5 will launch on September 10th, and better still, if you're subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate, you'll be able to play it four days early, on September 6th.
While the game's campaign was suspiciously absent during E3, The Coalition did show off their new co-op mode, Escape, where you and two fellow players work as "hive-busters" to infiltrate hives, plant bombs and, yes, escape.
And if the September wait is still too damn long, a Versus Multiplayer tech-test will be running in July, while the all-new Horde Mode will be revealed at Gamescom in August.
