EGX 2015: 8 Unexpectedly Good Video Games That Blew Us Away

1. Call Of Duty: Black Ops III

We'll admit, Call of Duty: Black Ops III isn't the smallest of games. Standing out from the rest of this list, it has a big budget behind it and countless developers working to bring you a new warfare experience. Usually, this game would be written off as 'just another Call of Duty' and we would be on our merry way, but this particular iteration of the franchise is really, really good. It is truly surprising. The wall running and rocket jumping that was introduced in the last game feels much more polished now; the maps feel cleaner and more elegantly designed, and instead of the duck-and-cover method of combat that was the main form of battle in other Call of Duty games, this one feels like it actively encourages running about, shooting from the hip and, most importantly, feels genuinely fun. Turns out even a AAA publisher can surprise you. Did you attend the show? Which games here are you looking forward to most? Let us know in the comments!
