Elden Ring: 6 Key Gameplay Details We Want To See
4. Mounts
This one has pretty much been confirmed and we should all be very excited to see FromSoftware’s take on mounts.
There are, however, certain aspects that the developers need to focus on in order for mounts to be an undisputed success. There is already talk of a variety of different beasts the player can choose from later in the game to ride and this is certainly a step in the right direction. Again, we want this to be first and foremost an RPG and the player choosing their preferred riding buddy to complement their build is important, so the more variety the better.
This being said, the most important thing for FromSoft to nail when it comes to mounts is the combat. Mounted combat needs to be smooth and quick- being ambushed on horseback could go one of two ways. It could be an exciting opportunity to slice through enemies or pick them off with satisfying accuracy with a ranged weapon, or it could slow everything down and turn the fight into a clunky mess as you desperately swing in any direction. The latter would greatly detract from the combat prowess sought after in Elden Ring.
