Elden Ring: 6 Key Gameplay Details We Want To See
1. A Living World
The worlds envisioned by FromSoftware tend to be sparsely populated with NPCs, in fact NPCs are so rare that many players tend to attack them on the first play-through, assuming they have come across another enemy.
Elden Ring’s scope is screaming to be populated by a wide host of NPCs, with branching side-quests and dozens of inter-linking narratives. If FromSoft want to have a real shot at making a great open-world game, then they will have to embark on their biggest cohort of NPCs to date - and then some.
With this comes the need for actions to have consequences, which FromSoftware should be commended for in their previous games. Even though they may have very few side quest-lines that tend to be incredibly short, characters will remember what choices the player has made and this will be consistent throughout the remainder of the game. Now that we have the vast canvas of Elden Ring to populate, we should be seeing far reaching consequences to our choices that spread throughout the world.
