Aside from the main quest in Oblivion, there are Guilds, Religious groups, Mysteries, battles and puzzles. All are just a small selection of the quest on offer.

There are a couple of classic examples that are often mentioned, though. The first one is called an unexpected voyage. You’re used to sleeping in inns at this point, whether to level up or pass the time it is a common occurrence. But if you decide to sleep on the Bloated Float, a ship turned inn at the imperial city, then you are going to get a nasty surprise.

Turns out when you wake up, the ship was stolen overnight by a group of thieves who are looking for a mysterious treasure. What happens next is a mission where you kill or talk your way through the gang and eventually uncover the mystery of the treasure.

The most famous mission in Oblivion is Whodunnit. You are invited to an all-night party that promises a big prize for the person who figures out the house’s mystery, the twist. Well, you’ve been sent by the dark brotherhood to kill everyone in the house. You can just kill them all, or you could slowly turn them against each other as the paranoia raises and more bodies are found.

Whatever guild you join or town you visit in Cyrodil, you are bound to find an interesting and unique quest.
