Elder Scrolls 6: 5 Things We Do Want To See (And 5 We Don't)
8. Do: New Mounts
Mounts are essential for an open-world game. Sometimes the thought of travelling a landscape without using a faster method of travel is too daunting to bare thinking of. That is why the option to have one has always been of significant importance. Not to mention that often it is easy to bond with your riding partner, making travelling with them far more fun.
Many games take full advantage of this, notable steads that come to mind are the likes of Roach in the Witcher, your horse in Red Dead Redemption or Epona in the Legend of Zelda series. But notably, all of these have a commonality, in that they are horses.
The fantasy setting means that there are plenty of opportunities to introduce some new options to the world that we haven't had the chance to ride yet. The exotic mounts seen in the Crown Store are a lot of fun, and players should have the ability to choose companions like them in the base franchise game outside of downloadable content.
