Elder Scrolls 6: 5 Things We Do Want To See (And 5 We Don't)
7. Don't: A Excess Of Bugs
Part of what makes the Elder Scrolls fun to look back on is how excessive the bugs are. There's an argument that the expanse of the world and the amount of player freedom was responsible for the lacking technical requirements of the game. Unfortunately, this excuse won't fly for a new instalment.
Video gaming as a medium now has plenty of evidence to suggest that a wide expansive world can function perfectly well without too many glitches. This is something that the developers for Elder Scrolls need to bear in mind. Although there is a lot of fun and charm to be had watching compilations of famous Elder Scrolls bugs, playing through a title could be infuriating at times.
If Bethesda releases a game that takes a similar trajectory with the technical mistakes of their other titles, it will be a real sign that the company are not learning how to improve their games. We don't want to see anything resembling fallout 76 in Tamriel.
Some bugs here and there would be fine, likely fun in fact, but Bethesda's track record needs to be improved. Otherwise, it will be hard to take the game and company seriously.
