Elder Scrolls 6: 5 Things We Do Want To See (And 5 We Don't)
3. Don't: Too Many Of The Same Voices
In Oblivion, there were only twenty voice actors to fill out the world, and an unbelievable amount of characters. Whilst this likely helped when it came to budgeting, it highlights one of Bethesda's issues, reusing the same voice actors and lines for minor characters/NPCs and making the game feel more repetitive than it should.
It's not just the quality of the voices, but also the line variety. We all recall that infamous line from Skyrim that took the internet hostage with its constant presence. That is not something we need to see again.
Hearing the same lines and voices over and over makes the game world feel small, and this is dangerous for a title that should be growing ever larger as the series continues. Hopefully, Bethesda will learn from their previous instalments and grant focus to this problem.
Although in the grand scheme of things it may feel like a minor detail, it is a big deal. It's vital to improve this to help players take the game seriously.
