Every Call Of Duty Campaign Ranked Worst To Best
1. Black Ops
It was going to take a lot to beat Modern Warfare to the top spot, and though this might be a divisive pick for many, there's no denying just how refreshing and well executed the first Black Ops is.
Switching things up by placing you in the midst of the Cold War, Black Ops moves between the battlefields of Vietnam to the gritty reality of POW camps with startling precision, and ties all the narrative threads together with an unsettling, unpredictable character-driven mystery.
It is, during its more typical battle sequences, the perfect CoD game, but the daring storyline and the way it links with World At War elevate it above other games in the series.
With Alex Mason's interrogation scenes, the sheer volume of CIA conspiracies being portrayed and the references to real-life historical events, Black Ops could quite easily have flopped under the pressure of keeping itself together.
Luckily, it soared because of its risks, and currently stands as the best Call of Duty game of all time.
