Every Call Of Duty Campaign Ranked Worst To Best
15. Call Of Duty
It all began here back in 2003, with a game that reeked of familiarity but carried with it a sense of scope other games at the time just didn't have down. Set during the Second World War, Call of Duty's self-titled debut followed the experiences of American, British and Soviet soldiers during various theatres of the conflict.
The best of these narratives is probably the intense Russia-focussed Battle of Stalingrad, which acted as a great change of pace in a genre that too often told stories about US forces.
Of course, the mechanics and visual effects don't really hold up eighteen (18!) years on, but there's no denying the influence of Call of Duty and how impressive it is that Infinity Ward started the world's most popular gaming franchise from here.
Call of Duty was only the beginning, and what a beginning it was.
