Every Call Of Duty Campaign Ranked Worst To Best
10. Call Of Duty 2
What made Call of Duty 2 such a revitalising game was just how willing it was to remix its own formula and add radically new territories to the overdone WW2 setting. Whilst focus is still put on various American, British and Russian forces, the narrative takes place across Libya, Moscow, Tunisia, and France, allowing players to experience a variety of battlefields across the conflict.
The sweeping battles are more refined and affecting than the game's predecessor, and the wealth of side missions make the narrative more immersive than many of the more recent games in the franchise.
CoD 2 also introduced the grenade indicator and the idea of health regeneration, two inspired gaming additions still used to this day. No, the graphics haven't aged well, and the story isn't as fresh as it once was simply because it's been reused so many times, but all told CoD 2 is one of the most important and iconic games in the series.
Things wouldn't be the same without it.
