Every Call Of Duty Campaign Ranked Worst To Best
9. Black Ops 3
Whilst its predecessor got too bogged down its messy narrative, Black Ops 3 took the time to slow down slightly and offer fans a mysterious, character-driven tale reminiscent of the first chapter in the trilogy.
At least, that's the case until the game's maddeningly confusing conclusion, which trips the otherwise solid game up at the last hurdle.
Black Ops 3 benefits throughout its gameplay from an intriguing tale of revenge and a series of entertaining missions that feature brilliant combat options and a decent use of CoD's newfound sci-fi stylings.
Sure, some of the missions are a tad redundant and lack any real vision, but Black Ops 3's nearly spotless commitment to telling a one-man army story with an ending that defies expectations is more than deserving of fans' praise.
It's a far cry from CoD's next bunch of titles, but Black Ops 3 gets major points for mixing things up and doing so in a fun, endlessly entertaining way.
