5. Indiana Jones And The Emperor's Tomb
2003's Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb acts as both an original adventure and a prequel of sorts to The Temple of Doom. Involving yet another ancient object that holds untold power, Indiana must venture to China to discover its whereabouts, take on the usual Nazi followers intent on discovering the power of themselves and take on the Asian Underworld in the process.
The focus for this adventure was hand-to-hand combat and plenty of weapon options, as opposed to a heavy reliance on puzzle solving. One particular level has players taking control of a turret gun in a first-person perspective car chase, something previous games had never explored.
As action adventures go, Emperor's Tomb turned out a solid experience that somewhat aped the many other third-person action games of its time, but the experience of being Indiana and the rather detailed world that tied into the movies helped to elevate the experience beyond just a carbon copy.
There's also a number of direct references and particular characters from Temple of Doom that make an appearance throughout, including Wu Han who (if you recall) died trying to help Indy during the infamous opening fight scene at Club Obi Wan.
