6. Resident Evil Village
Resident Evil Village is the latest chronological entry in the series and continues where RE7: Biohazard left off. This time around, Ethan Winters has to survive the titular village as he faces off against the four lords and Mother Miranda.
From the get-go, the game makes improvements by addressing the criticisms of the last. There are many more enemy types and the main village hub serves as an avenue for exploration where Ethan can pick up collectibles. The more you play through the game, the more areas of the village you can open up. There is also an upgrade system to improve weapons and cooked dishes to strengthen the player.
At the same time, the game features several new memorable additions to the series from the statuesque Lady Dimitrescu and her vampire brood as well as Lord Heisenberg who all reside in different detailed environments. The title also has one of the scariest sequences in recent gaming with the House Benieviento encounter where Ethan has to run away from a giant deformed fetus.
In the end, RE: VIllage is a great addition to the series and builds upon what made 7 work.
