7. Bloodborne

Arriving in 2014 amidst a sea of forgettable titles, Bloodborne quickly became the best PS4 exclusive going.

Obviously owing a lot to Dark Souls gameplay and progression-wise, this fellow FromSoftware-developed action RPG dove into H.P. Lovecraft rather than shields n' swords fantasy. As such, the story of Bloodborne revolves a number of 'Hunters' journeying into the night with makeshift, transforming weapons to fell the creatures that haunt their alleyways.

Immediately it's a more engaging and immediate setup than Dark Souls, and from there we get a tale of bloodshed, watchful alien entities, brilliantly gruesome boss battles and TONS of gutting everything along the way into various small pieces.

Bloodborne is an incredibly hard game in spots, but by separating those who'll stick it through to the end, it's resulted in a diehard fanbase still eagerly awaiting more.
