Yknow what? Knack never had an easy go, but objectively it's not that bad - in fact, there's a lot of fun to be had with a basic trial n' error platformer, providing you know what you're in for.

Because Knack - for some reason - has an incredibly hard difficulty in spots. Restarts are quick and movement sharp and responsive, but the various enemy-filled corridors and rooms you're asked to traverse will likely see you die far more times than making it through in one go.

These more arduous spots made it impossible for youngsters to pick up, and then you had the compounded issues of Knack himself looking like a sentient pile of junkyard machinery, the cutscenes being surprisingly solemn and the game lacking in memorable moments or levels.

Still, know this: Knack was never as bad as many have made him out to be.
