The sequel to one of the best games of all time was met with as much caution as excitement when it was announced at PSX last fall. Because the first Last of Us was so universally loved, and more importantly, gave fans the perfect ending for these characters, there's some concern surrounding whether or not it's the right idea to continue the seemingly concluded story of Joel and Ellie in this next game.

But Naughty Dog is a studio that can virtually do whatever they want, and they wouldn't put time into developing a sequel to The Last of Us if they didn't think they had the goods to top or at least match what came before.

It's probably going to be a long time before we can get our hands on it, but until then we have the sequel's breathtaking first trailer to watch over and over again while we pray for Joel and Ellie to make it out the next game alive.
