Intended for release last year, Gran Turismo Sport is now allegedly scheduled to hit shelves at the tail-end of 2017. The long-awaited sequel promises to be just as detailed and as polished as any other game in the franchise, and the addition of VR features could inspire an entirely new way to play if implemented correctly. Still, nothing we've seen so far indicates, for better or worse, that this release is going to be anything more than 'yet another Gran Turismo'.

After being gone for so long the series doesn't hold the same reverence it once did, and Microsoft's Forza franchise has since eclipsed it in both popularity and quality.

Another run-of-the-mill GT won't suffice in 2017, and the developers will have to be firing on all cylinders if they want to bring fans back over to Sony's classic racer.
