EVERY Resident Evil Game Ranked Worst To Best
14. Resident Evil 6
Now we need to talk about the weakest of the mainline Resident Evil line-up. It was one of the biggest projects Capcom had ever undertaken, with a development team over 600 strong. The plan to create "the ultimate horror entertainment" fell foul on launch as the title devolved into a run-everywhere shoot-everything affair.
As a frivolous Michael Bay extravaganza, you can get some mild enjoyment out of it, but as a Resident Evil game, it's a flailing mess. In a desperate bid to make everyone happy and capture as wide a market as possible, Resident Evil 6 capitulated into mindless, non-sensical insanity when it released in 2012.
Each of its four campaigns tried to cater to a specific audiences; Leon Kennedy's for Resident Evil fans, Chris Redfield for Call of Duty players, Jake Mueller for fans of Uncharted and Ada Wong for the puzzle enthusiasts.
The central problem with all of these was the ludicrous assortment of bad gameplay ideas, irritating quick-time-events and poor pacing that sent the series flying off the rails. While Resident Evil 6 sold incredibly well with over nine million units flying off the shelve, many would argue that it marked the lowest point for the series.
