EVERY Resident Evil Game Ranked Worst To Best

4. Resident Evil 2 (Original)

Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City Nemesis
Capcom

To up the ante after its successful debut, the sequel to Resident Evil set about improving and expanding in every area. Following a conceptual Resident Evil 1.5, director Hideki Kamiya would scrap the developer's work and start over, with the final game releasing in 1998.

The second Resident Evil introduced the popular characters Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, placing them in the thick of the chaos. The fall of Racoon City plays host to a truly brilliant survival horror experience as the two make their way to the Racoon City Police Station and go on to uncover the G-virus, an enemy twice as difficult to destroy.

The franchise grew larger as the Umbrella corporation's dark secrets slowly came to light and many memorable moments lined the main campaign. Tussling with the creepy lickers and the numerous mutated bosses would quickly become etched in gamer's minds after playing.

With its great mix of horror and action, Resident Evil 2 is widely regarded as the best of the original trilogy, not to mention one of the best sequels you could ask for. It boasted more of everything; enemies, weapons and modes, with the differing A and B scenarios boasting a solid amount of replayability
