EVERY Resident Evil Game Ranked Worst To Best
3. Resident Evil 2 (Remake)
After years of requests and fan anticipation, Capcom finally started work on Resident Evil 2 Remake; many would consider the PlayStation One classic their favourite of the entire series.
The developer took special care to ensure that this release met expectations, as players returned to Racoon City at the height of the viral outbreak. Yet what's most impressive about the final product is how it remains faithful to the older title, while also diversifying the gameplay for a modern audience. More than just a graphical overhaul, RE2 Remake re-tooled and refined the gameplay of the the original to create a dramatically different pace of play.
In essence, it was a hybrid of the over-the-shoulder viewpoint pioneered by Resident Evil 4 mixed with the survival horror of the original trilogy. This newer release was all the better for it, with players frantically trying to balance out their ammo supplies with removing obstacles, all while avoiding the prying eyes of Mr X.
The Racoon City police station is certainly the highlight, a brilliantly designed collection of deadly rooms and corridors that forces the player to plan their moves carefully. Resident Evil 2 Remake was another standout hit for the franchise, leaving players hungry for more.
