6. Johnny Klebitz - GTA: The Lost And Damned

Johnny Klebitz could (and probably should) be higher on this list. He's a unique character involved in a short, but very memorable storyline, involving the gradual collapse of a loyal motorcycle club. He was the centrepiece of a unique take on the Grand Theft Auto universe, and a canny mix of streetwise brutality and surprising sensitivity. His arc with on-off girlfriend Ashley is perhaps the only mature exploration of a relationship in any GTA title, and the shocking breakdown of his friendship with Billy is similarly well handled. However, Johnny's reputation is partially ruined by his appearance in GTA V. He's reduced to a bumbling meth addict, emotionally and physically weaker, and back with Ashley once more. Johnny's death at the hands of Trevor was a slap in the face to many fans, and drew a lot of criticism for its callous nature. The general consensus seems to be that he was a character deserving of a far better send-off.
