Fallout 3 Anniversary Edition: 9 Longstanding Issues Bethesda Must Fix

8. Make Subways Easier To Navigate

Bethesda

Although Fallout 3 is home to a huge, intricately-detailed open world, you have to jump through a few hoops if you want to get from one side to the other. Because debris blocks your path to some of the major locations, the game forces you into labyrinthian subway stations filled with Ghouls so you can take a detour around blockages.

Not only was this a little disappointing as it made the world feel far more segmented than Oblivion, but the difficult-to-understand map resulted in navigation being even more frustrating, as you could get sidetracked for hours whilst embarking on a seemingly straightforward mission.

Obviously, it would probably be too much for Bethesda to just open up new pathways - especially when so much of the main questline revolves around moving through these areas - but they should think about making them easier to navigate.
