Fallout 4: 10 Best Fan-Demands That Must Be Included

3. Completely Overhauled Animation

Back in the day you could get away with blocky and awkwardly-animating characters - in fact, people barely even questioned it; that's just how games were. Over the last decade though we've seen an exponential increase in programming technology and rendering capabilities; now if your character is going to have a lifelike face, body and characteristics it's going to look mighty weird if they start jolting in and out of different animations - not to mention the potential for heads spinning all the way round or legs bending forwards. Bethesda are known for developing certain world-building game engines and then pushing them to breaking point - and as much as that's allowed them to create some phenomenal world designs overall, it feels like the general lick of polish applied to character animation took the biggest hit. It's time for a complete reconstruct of the foundations for this new generation of consoles, and that starts with seeing how the hero and everyone around interacts with each other.
