Fallout 4: 10 Biggest WTF Moments From The E3 Demo
3. It's Utterly Beautiful
Fans were left a little underwhelmed by the graphics of Fallout 4 in the wake of Bethesda's first reveal, with the animations and textures in particular looking two console generations behind the current standard. Nobody was particularly bothered by this; every Fallout fan knows that graphics make little difference to their enjoyment of a Fallout title. Very few people expected to be left awestruck by the graphics on display in Bethesda's showcase, but upon glimpsing the updated Creation Engine in actionan engine that was modified from the Gamebryo engine that powered Fallout 3 and even Oblivionall agreed that the game looked sumptuous in action. With vastly improved lighting and shading, some form of depth-of-field mechanic and a greater level of detail and depth present in animations and textures. Fallout 4 looks bright, fresh and alive like never before: there's colour, nuance, depth and tactility in every scene of the showcase.
