Fallout 4: 10 Characters We Need To See Again

6. Dogmeat

""
Dogmeat has become something of a staple within the Fallout universe, from our first encounter with him in Junktown in the original Fallout to our crossing paths with his descendant in Fallout 3; Dogmeat has been through it all in one way or another. He wasn't particularly effective in combat, he wasn't much to talk to, but he was always there when you needed him. Essentially just a great big Mad Max reference, Dogmeat has become one of the quintessential icons of Fallout 3, and his absence in Fallout: New Vegas was truly felt; the cyberdog replacement, Rex, just wasn't the same. Dogmeat was a surprisingly practical companion in Fallout 3: the dextrous mutt could be sent away to fetch ammunition, food, medicine and weapons. In combat he served as the perfect lure, as enemies are drawn to Dogmeat instead of the player, allowing you to explore their combat options while their loyal companion goes toe to toe with a Yao Guai.
