Fallout 4: 10 Core Improvements Fans Haven’t Considered
3. The Option To Leave Any Dungeon Whenever - Fast Travel From Anywhere
There are a lot of 'obvious' innovations brought about over the years that fans of Fallout's stark design have cast aside in favour of retaining Bethesda's unapologetically stark approach to game design - one of which is the apparent resilience when it comes to finishing a mission and wanting to leave the requisite area. It's a relatively small thing, but no one likes to get the "You can't fast travel from here" prompt, and although many fans insist that you should have to manually travel back to the surface for the sake of contextual realism, it'd simply be far easier to just up and away whenever you like. Sure you'd have to have restrictions - and nearby enemies should still prevent you from escaping at the touch of a button - but for the sake of streamlining the experience and doing away with the part that nobody truly enjoys i.e. the backtrack through everything you've just done, let's have a 'Return to Surface'/Fast Travel option available nigh-constantly.
