Fallout 4: 10 Incredible Franchise Moments That Made Us Hardcore Fans
9. Buying Charons Contract In Fallout 3
Underworld, the city inhabited by ghouls located within the Museum of History, is certainly one of the more interesting places to visit in the Wasteland. It is also a place where you will encounter plenty of quirky characters. One perfect example is the mysterious bodyguard Charon who watches over the entrance to the Ninth Circle bar. Talk a bit with the owner/bartender Ahzrukhal and you quickly discover that he is an unseemly character who is quick to profit off the misfortune and pain of others and that Charon is his no-nonsense, hard-hitting enforcer who is more than capable of taking out anyone making trouble for his employer. However, talk to Ahzrukhal a little more and you discover that Charons contract can be bought for the right price. That price happens to be quite steep, especially if you get him early on in the game (and also if youre playing a good guy who can get Fawkes for free). It is understandable that you would want some kind of assurance that Charon is a worthy investment. Luckily for you, Charon is quick to prove this to you as soon as he becomes your employee, if only through pure entertainment value. When he learns that he is no longer honor bound to serve Ahzrukhal, he pays him a last visit to say goodbye as best he knows how with a shotgun blast to the face. It turns out that Ahzrukhal had Charon do all kinds of dirty work and, although Charon did everything his employer asked of him, he certainly didnt appreciate it.
