8. War Never Changes
Is there any other line that perfectly evokes the atmosphere of Fallout? Serving as the tagline of the franchise for most of the series, the line is heard at the beginning of Fallout 1, 2 and 3. It signals the beginning (and end) of a new adventure but, at the same time, assures the player that things are still the same: the world is still a treacherous wasteland inhabited by unseemly characters and dangerous monsters where the man with the biggest gun is king. Of course, part of the charm of the line is hearing it coming out of the mouth of Ron Perlman, the narrator for most of the games in the series who has, more or less, become the voice of the franchise. His deep voice and cold delivery perfectly sets up the mood to let you know exactly what kind of world you are about to walk in completely uncompromising, completely unforgiving.
