7. Texas
If you're such a dedicated Fallout fan that you've ventured beyond the canonical games into the PS2 top-down shooter, Brotherhood of Steel, then you'll a) have been disappointed by the weakest game in the series and b) be familiar with Texas as a location in the Fallout universe. Well, Bethesda wants you to forget most of what you know about Texas from that game, as they've declared it 'non-canon' due to it not quite fitting with their mythos (and presumably because it was pretty naff). And what better way to make us forget than by setting a Fallout game there and essentially overwriting what came before? Despite the PS2 game's bad reputation, it had a few neat ideas, such as the underground ghoul city of Los, which could be incorporated. According to Van Buren canon, Caesar's Legion was defeated at the end of New Vegas when it tried to take Hoover Dam, and ended up rebasing to this area, which is also known for its radioactive cyclones (and who doesn't want to see those?). With Texas being the huge place that it is, gameplay would need to focus on one specific area. Obviously, El Paso would be in the running if we were in the sandy environs of western Texas, but moving east, things could take place around the three cities of San Antonio, Austin and Texas; given their close proximity, why not include all of them? You could travel between them by Brahmin, or radscorpion, or, fittingly for Texas, on mutated horseback!
