Fallout 4: 10 Simple Fixes That Would Improve Everything

4. Cities Without Loading Screens

Fallout: New Vegas made a notable attempt at bringing post-apocalyptic Las Vegas to life, complete with a number of explorable casinos and surrounding urban communities. It failed quite spectacularly. While all of those things certainly made it into the final game, the limitations of the console hardware that Fallout: New Vegas would be running on meant that the entire city was to be broken up into a number of areas, forcing players to sit through a number of lengthy loading screens in order to get from one end of the city to another. The sheer number of barriers that had to be traversed in order to complete a simple fetch quest was enough to drive the most patient of gamers completely insane. As an added grievance the player's main house, which is located in the Lucky 38 casino, can not be accessed directly through fast travel, forcing players to fast travel to the nearest location and pass through a mind-numbing number of loading screens simply to access their gear. These urban centres hold so much potential, but until they can be properly constructed and placed into the game their inclusion is questionable at best.
