Fallout 4: 10 Small Problems That Stop It Being Perfect
3. The Main Story Barely Explores The World
The main quest-lines of Bethesda's RPGs have always been their least compelling, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but they should at least try to show as much of the world off as possible. Exploration has always been the name of the game with the likes of Fallout and Elder Scrolls, but all these previous main stories managed to work the world's map into their plot. With the franchise's fourth main instalment it can feel as though you're just circling around the centre of the map, with the odd excursion to the south occurring at intermittent intervals. It's a shame considering just how beautiful the world is, and whilst I don't doubt my own ability to complete its many, many side-quests, it would've been nice for Bethesda to have shown off more of the game world for those who may not be able to invest that much time in the experience. It may not be as beautiful as Skyrim or indeed Tamriel as a whole, but the Commonwealth isn't without its own charm - it's just a shame the main story didn't explore it more.
