Fallout 4: 10 Things It Will Do Better Than Everyone Else
4. The World
The last two Fallout game worlds were perfectly created versions of a post-nuclear Washington D.C. and Las Vegas. Now with the added graphical power of the next-gen consoles - as well as modern gaming PCs - the world is expected to be even bigger, more detailed, and visually breathtaking. A lot has been said about the upcoming Witcher 3's setting, with its medieval stylings and rural settings, but walking around a city that people are familiar with can give players more of a connection to that world. Seeing the Washington monument in part 3, or the 'Welcome to Las Vegas' sign in New Vegas, really added a level of immersion to these games. Even for players who had never been to these places before, seeing recognisable landmarks added some realism to the experience. There's still no concrete facts about exactly where Fallout 4 will be set, but Boston does seem the most likely candidate, especially as it was reported that members of the development team were scouting locations in the city. If this is the case, then expect The Massachusetts Institute of Technology to feature heavily in the game.
