Remember those almost-entirely useless toy cars and empty Nuka Cola bottles that - somehow - always found their way into your inventory in Fallout 3 & New Vegas? Yeah, your poor inventory was never given an inch of breathing room when it came to being clogged with tacky bric-a-brac. Thanks to Fallout 4's spiffy new crafting system though, even the most seemingly pointless object can become the difference between a bog-standard rifle and one that boasts superior firepower. I mean, you'll never be making a Fat Man launcher entirely out of old, rusty kitchen utensils (unless you want it to malfunction), but at least there's now a reason to scour every last box, barrel and computer desk for materials other than Caps and ammo. Bethesda have already stated that the weapon crafting system has hundreds of different customisation options, so you just never know how useful that surgical tubing could be down the road...
