Fallout 4: 12 Settings That Would Be Better Than Boston

6. London, England

Provided that Bethesda could refrain from populating the whole city with cockney, wonky-toothed 'Del Boys', a post-apocalyptic London could, in theory, work. It's got some of the most recognisable landmarks in the world, many of which are heavily linked to government. This could make for a general tone that's not too dissimilar to that of Fallout 3's Capitol Wasteland, with its Pièce de résistance, the National Mall. If Bethesda could recreate that sense of scale and depth that permeated every level of Fallout 3, then a post-apocalyptic London complete with its renowned Underground network, would be a sandbox setting like no other. London would undoubtedly make for a grittier Fallout, with the UK's famous lack of firearms more than likely resulting in more visceral, 'make every shot count' kind of gameplay; where weapons and items are less disposable than they were in the Mojave Wasteland. And if none of that strikes your fancy, at least a London based Fallout would provide an interesting new conflict, with new factions, new enemies and a refreshingly novel take on the American styling that made the other Fallout games so relentlessly charming.
