2. Floor Decorations = Happiness
Even in the apocalypse, a ruddy good floor rug will sort your township's mood right out. The Happiness stat in-game should go up nicely if your followers are suitably fed and have decent living conditions such as beds and shelter during storms, but you can boost it far more if you throw down a handful of floor decorations. In a funny turn, it actually doesn't matter too much where you place them, providing they're within the zoned-off green area. So, feel free to horde mats and carpets in your own place and the people will still respond with pure adoration - it's like being some post-apocalyptic wasteland celebrity.
