One of the biggest additions to the new survival mode that everyone's been calling for is hunger and thirst. But having spent some time with it, even I was shocked about just how often you need to eat and sleep out there...

Your body's surplus of food and drink in survival mode depletes quickly, and the effects are drastic - the longer you don't see to your needs, the worse your stat hits will be.

This means you need to always keep an eye on your supplies. Grab empty bottles where possible and fill them up with dirty water, then cook/boil the water, along with any raw food you have, at cooking stations. If you're at a settlement, glug down as much water from pumps as possible, as well and fill up your empty bottles with clean water.

If you haven't eaten in a while but aren't yet hungry, prioritise using food to heal yourself with rather than stimpaks, because that'll have the added effect of satisfying your hunger.
